38 Special, Drivin N Cryin and Tishamingo Join LS For 3 Days of Full-Tilt Jams!

Atlanta, GA - Sixthman is pleased to announce Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gimme 3 Days cruise, the latest addition to the Sixthman family of chartered cruises, which includes The Rock Boat. Gimme 3 Days is a 3-day music vacation on board the Carnival Fascination, a luxury cruise liner. Departing Miami on January 5, 2007, Lynyrd Skynyrd fans will visit Nassau, in the Bahamas, before returning on January 8, 2007. Gimme 3 Days will feature up-close-and-personal concerts from Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Drivin N Cryin, Tishamingo, Keni Thomas, American Minor, Blackberry Smoke, Corey Smith, the Blue Dogs and other bands from the Southern Rock and Country worlds, which will be announced soon.

Renowned Southern Rock band and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Lynyrd Skynyrd has been making music and fans for more than 30 years. While Southern Rock has come in and out of fashion, Lynyrd Skynyrd has stemmed the tide and remained a force in music. Over the years, the band has released 24 records, including Billboard chart toppers Street Survivors, Nuthin' Fancy and One More From The Road. The band has also produced 20 singles that have appeared on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks and Pop Singles charts, including classics such as "What's Your Name," "Free Bird," "Saturday Night Special," "Smokestack Lightning" and "Gimme Three Steps." Proving that Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes transcend time, "Sweet Home Alabama," which was originally released in 1974, has recently appeared at #19 on the Hot Ringtones chart and #50 on the Hot Digital Singles chart, both modern categories at Billboard. It's just another reminder that Lynyrd Skynyrd still has a healthy fan base and a hearty career. On the Gimme 3 Days cruise, you will have the ultimate opportunity to see this legendary band in a once in a lifetime setting.

Keeping it in all in the family, 38 Special will also be joining Gimme 3 Days. 38 Special, led by Donnie Van Zant, the brother of Skynyrd's leader, Johnny Van Zant, has been making some of the best Southern Rock for the last 30 years. Since 1975, 38 Special has released 15 records, selling over 15 million, and has had a string of hit singles, including "Caught Up in You," "Hold On Loosely," "If I'd Been the One," "Back Where You Belong" and "Like No Other Night." With the intimacy of the Gimme 3 Days setting, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Van Zant brothers jammed together on some classic Lynyrd Skynyrd or 38 Special tunes.

Fronted by singer/songwriter extraordinaire Kevn Kinney, Drivin N Cryin formed in Atlanta in 1986 and quickly became a success, packing clubs across Atlanta and Athens. One of the band's early tracks, "Straight To Hell," was an instant hit with fans and critics alike and eventually became the modern equivalent of "Freebird" in terms of audience requests. DNC kept the momentum going at radio with several hit singles, such as "Fly Me Courageous" and "Scarred But Smarter," which became staples of college radio, gaining the band a substantial following throughout the Southeast. Still a fan favorite, Drivin N Cryin can still pack a house twenty years later.

There's a whole new breed of Southern Rock bands coming into the music scene and they will be joining their music forefathers on Gimme 3 Days. The music of Tishamingo, Keni Thomas, American Minor, Blackberry Smoke and the Blue Dogs is steeped in the traditions of Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special, but stamped with each band's unique style. Make sure to catch these amazing young artists as they unleash their own brand of Southern Rock on the Gimme 3 Days stage.

In addition to all of the performances by these legendary and up-and-coming artists, fans sailing on the Gimme 3 Days cruise have the opportunity to engage in unique artist interaction, a chance to strut their stuff on the Open Mic stage and more, all while experiencing a world-class Carnival cruise with fine dining, 24-hour room service, a full-service casino, beautiful swimming pools, a gym and many other great services. Gimme 3 Days is a must for any true fan of Rock and Roll!
