The Moss Brothers Band

The Moss Brothers Band
Royal Orleans
CD Review By Ms Rebyll

The very mention of their name “The Moss Brothers Band” conjures up an image of a swampy cypress trees in a bayou. Ya’ll come and get some. “Royal Orleans ” is gonna make you hungry for some more swampland music. This music is born and bred in the Deep South . It makes you feel like you’re sitting on your Mama’s front porch sippin’ on a big ole glass of sweet iced tea at a family reunion enjoying the sweet smells of magnolia blossoms in the air.
The band members are Troy Moss on lead and back-up vocals, electric guitar, mandolin, Jeff Moss on Lead and back-up vocals, dobro, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, Kevin Dale on vocals, bass and finishing off with David Smith on drums.
They have this wonderful bluegrass music intertwined with country and a little Southern rock to round out the mix. This blend takes you through a part the South some never will see. “Southern Son” is one of this writers favorite. The song “Cajun Waltz” is the only instrumental on this album and Troy really showcases his mandolin skills. Who knew “Collard Greens” could give all those West Coast ladies an alternative to breast enlargements, and also to gives Viagra a run for its money!
